Finding love, losing love. Regret and sorrow. You're hardly ever prepared for it.
~ Song: Black is the Color by Espers ~
Russell's incredible sadness, his shock, confusion and anger remind me of this line from the song Graceland by Paul Simon:
"Losing love is like a window in your heart. Everybody sees, you're blown apart. Everybody sees the wind blow."
I'm in awe of Denis O'Hare. The man can't be praised enough. It's all in his eyes.

A short Russell/Talbot backstory:
Russell Edgington is no particular fan of humankind. Almost 3000 years old, the vampire has witnessed enough of human stupidity and baseness. But now and then life holds surprises that crack your belief system. Back in 14th century Byzantium Russell fell in love with Talbot, a human man. And very much so. An impossible match in many ways, but nothing could be done. You don't choose who you love. When Talbot was fatally wounded in battle, he asked Russell to turn him. They stayed together for nearly 700 years and would have forevermore, if not Talbot had fallen victim to Eric Northman's personal vendetta against Russell. Which was extremely tragic but ultimately led to some of the greatest moments in True Blood history yet.
Talbot will be sorely missed.
