This is a test that examines the large intestine (colon) using a flexible endoscope. It is used to look for abnormalities in the colon and, if necessary, to take samples which will be analyzed under a microscope. During this examination, one may also discover polyps which, if possible, are removed in order to prevent them from growing and turning into a tumor.
