Gigafactory Texas on 6 April 2022! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
The day before the Giga Texas grand opening and “Cyber Rodeo” event! I can’t believe it is finally here! The factory looks great, and a lot of work has been done to make it so! It’s time to let the party begin!
We do a pre-dawn 360-degree flight around the main factory and see a stunning deep orange sunrise over the factory … very fitting for the eve of Cyber Rodeo! Lots of work on the west side to set up staged, displays, a giant boot, Saguaro cactus forest, Geodesic domes and more! North end transformation almost completed and a lot more plants installed! Fireworks launching platforms setup on the north end too! Solar panel installation looking good, but a lot more work left to be done to get this completed. East side parking lot ready for 15,000 guests tomorrow, and we see GeoPier work underway at the new battery Cathode plant location, meaning foundation work is now in progress!
Winds were a significant factor in the drone flight today, so I had to curtail some of the normal flight paths, but I think the video really helps set the stage for an exciting day tomorrow! Enjoy!

Here are a few significant highlights from today's video:
- On the third floor of the west General Assembly structure, we see two covered Cyber Trucks, the white Semi-truck, and what looks like two covered roadsters, possibly generation 1 and Generation 2. Other interesting prototypes are also visible through the windows.
- We look inside the Stamping machine structure for a few views of on-going construction in the center bay of this structure along with the operational Schuler stamping press and testing of the AIDA stamping press.
- Most of the Model Y’s on the south end have been moved, some to the west side for the Cyber Rodeo, some are inside and some have been transported off site. We also see employees driving at least five Model Y’s out of the factory and onto the parking area.
- The west side Cyber Rodeo preparations are really coming along, including a large stage, a huge silver cowboy boot, A large erector-set like structure, a stainless-steel Saguaro cactus forest. And a large geodesic dome near what may be the general audience entry and exit ramp and platform. Many Model Y’s are arranged on the west side, likely waiting to be placed into the form of a large Texas flag tomorrow.
- On the north end, we see thousands of plants being installed, final cleanup of the parking lot and roadway and large platforms for firework launchers. All of the streetlamps and lighting seems to be installed now as well. Work on the berm near the frontage road was underway, planting grass and putting up barriers for the event tomorrow.
- The east parking lot area seems ready for all the guests tomorrow, and contractor cars are now being parked in the temporary parking lot just north of the sedimentation basin. We also see the concrete north-south road parallel to the powerlines is nearly completed (except for one southbound lane) and ready for tomorrow as well.
- Finally, the far northeast clearing area, where the battery cathode plant has been relocated to is nearly level and final touches on the overall grade are being worked on this morning. Significantly, GeoPier work has now begun, drilling the piers that will support the main foundation and stabilize the soil, which will allow construction to begin, possibly in about a month or so.
