The US & UK have the highest number of Syphilis cases,
in more than 70 years.
Some believe, one of the main causes is the use of dating apps
which has made it easier than ever to hook up
& have unprotected casual sex.
Most people don't realize they have syphilis,
as it can be asymptomatic or they think it's something else.
If you don't get treatment, you could have heart problems,
personality changes, dementia, seizures,
become blind,
develop nerve damage,
problems with balance & hearing
& issues with all other major organs.
Some of these symptoms, may not appear for years until after infection.
Btw, it can also kill you!
If you're pregnant,
it can cause still birth, neonatal death, prematurity.
Due to the explosion in cases,
US Authorities are thinking of declaring a state of emergency because
of a shortage of penicillin.
Even if you get diagnosed, there's no guarantee, you can get rid of it
as there are more & more examples of resistance to antibiotics.
