For Barbenheimer weekend, I visited Los Alamos, New Mexico for the first time! Starting out by seeing "Oppenheimer," directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Cillian Murphy, at the Santa Fe Railyard, I show 109 East Palace before heading up to Los Alamos. Los Alamos, which is part of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park, has numerous historic sites near the National Laboratory, including Ashley Pond, the Main Gate, Fuller Lodge and Bathtub Row. This video includes a tour of the Los Alamos History Museum, also featuring the Hans Bethe House and J. Robert Oppenheimer House. I also got to see a few filming locations of "Oppenheimer," including an exclusive look at one inside the United Church. We also visit the Mesa Public Library, Pierotti's Clowns Monument, the John F. Kennedy Memorial, and the scrap metal sculptures of Richard Swenson. The birthplace of the atomic bomb is a fascinating place!
