After a 10-2 win over the Phillies and a complete game from Justin Steele seemed to build the momentum for the Cubs, they reminded everyone watching that they are a last place team. The Angels shut out the Cubs 7-0 at Wrigley Field on Saturday.
Pete Crow-Armstrong was still out of the lineup, Yency Almonte will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, Kyle Hendricks exited the game early with lower back tightness, Mark Leiter Jr. should return to the ball club next week and Julian Merryweather will be starting a rehab assignment in South Bend soon.
Cubs vs Angels 1:20
Hayden Wesneski (2-5, 4.14 ERA) vs Jose Soriano (4-6, 3.77)
