In this interview excerpt from July 18, 1985, Eric Carr, KISS's second drummer, reveals how the song "Breakout" was written and 1981 for The Elder album. It wasn't used on that album, but Ace Frehley liked it so much that he continued working on. It was released in the 1987 album Frehley's Comet and on KISS's 1992 album, Revenge. The Revenge version has Bruce Kulick playing lead over the original demo recorded by Eric Carr, Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley, and Gene Simmons in 1981.
