Lindores Abbey is the recorded birthplace of a strange herbal concoction known as 'Aqua Vitae' - the forefather of modern whisky. The original Abbey is little more than a ruin but on the same land now sits a very modern Lowland whisky distillery - and they just released their first single malt for the general public.
