Utah's snowpack in February 2023 was well above average as the state saw its best winter in years. But the accumulating snow is also raising concerns. (MORE: [ Ссылка ]) It's reminiscent of the snowpack 40 years ago, which melted quickly in the spring, causing widespread flooding. Officials made the call to close State Street in Salt Lake City, and residents volunteered to help bag sand to shore up the road and redirect the flood away from homes and businesses. It became known as the "State Street River." We dug up some of our footage to show you exactly what it looked like back in the late spring of 1983.
