A demo and instructional mod video on how to add a simple expression pedal input to control the 'Drag' function of your EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath pedal.
The Earthquaker Afterneath is a singular reverberator that creates unique, oscillating atmospheric washes, warped echoes, and immense, all-consuming reverbs using a series of short delays, resulting in a groundbreaking reverb pedal unlike anything else on the market. The Afterneath features a comprehensive set of controls, including the Drag knob, which separates the wash of short delays for creating scattered, rhythmic reverb effects, and the Diffuse control, for focusing the reverb for a tight attack, or spreading it out for a haunting ambient wash. Other controls include Dampen, which governs overall treble content, and Reflect, which controls the regeneration of the Afterneath's reverb, from mild to wild self-oscillations. Like all Earthquaker pedals, the Afterneath features true bypass switching and an all analog dry signal path, and it's made by very small hands in gorgeous Akron, Ohio.

About We Are Temporary:
We Are Temporary is the wired and weird brainchild of Brooklyn’s Mark Roberts. Signed to Germany’s cult label Trisol, his distinct style of contemporary pop and darkwave is as much the result of a musical obsession as a philosophical one. With boldly confessional lyrics and vocal deliveries funneled through nightfall beats and orchestral synths, We Are Temporary draws from a wide range of influences: top-40 pop, goth, witch house, future wave, dream pop, post-rock, industrial, hip hop, ambient, techno, and classical music.
Featured in outlets such as Billboard, Noisey, Paper, Refinery29, Complex, Orkus and many more, his sound and production sensibilities have been compared to bands like Fever Ray, Gazelle Twin, Crystal Castles, M83, and “Depeche Mode at their most raw”.
Since We Are Temporary’s 2013 debut Afterthoughts EP, Roberts has been a whirlwind of activity, releasing a song in memory of Eric Garner that premiered with a lengthy interview in The Village Voice, covering Lana Del Rey’s “Gods & Monsters”, and creating remixes of and for artists as diverse as Kesha, ASP, Empathy Test, Kelela, and Mark Stoermer of The Killers.
In 2016, We Are Temporary released his debut album Crossing Over, had his music featured in the pilot episode of FOX‘s hit-show Lethal Weapon, toured Germany, saw his Kesha remix go viral with high-profile coverage in Billboard, Paper Magazine, and Refinery 29, and performed at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig.
In addition to a slot at Amphi Festival 2017 in Germany, We Are Temporary just toured Europe again for two months, opening for bands like Haujobb and joining Project Pitchfork on tour as their official support.
We Are Temporary’s new album ‘Embers’ released January 26th, 2018 as a digital download or as DigiPak CD (including two 24-page booklets).
