It is well documented that this ECM/ECU corrodes inside its 'weatherproof' casing, as it sits in the front scuttle, where rainwater can get straight to it .... the water gets between the ECM / ECU & the lower mounting plate - if you catch it early enough, you can clean off all the corrosion, re-paint it & refit it with no trouble .... if you don't catch it in time, it will corrode right through the ECM / ECU casing, and will then corrode the printed circuit board causing terminal failure .... don't even think of asking Nissan how much a replacement would cost ....
Pull yours out & check it now, before it is too late !!!
