Landowner Plays Dopesmoker 666% Faster and with No Distortion
“Dopesmoker” is composed by Sleep (Al Cisneros, Matt Pike, Chris Hakius) and was originally released in 2003. The original hour-long stoner metal song is distorted and crushingly slow, to the point of near-transcendence. Here, Landowner speeds through the song beyond the point of recognition, at variable tempos ranging from 420% to 1000% faster, averaging at 666%; omits distortion, and takes a few minor liberties with the lyrics. The result reveals unimaginable riffs and time signatures heretofore obscured by slowness.
Landowner Plays Dopesmoker 666% Faster and with No Distortion was performed by Landowner:
Dan Shaw: vocals
Jeff Gilmartin: guitar
Elliot Hughes: guitar
Josh Owsley: bass
Josh Daniel: drums
Recorded and mixed by Josh Daniel in Easthampton MA in 2024.
Mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service.
