Hey Homestead Tribe! Today we are making some homemade Chocolate Syrup! This homemade Chocolate Syrup recipe will make you rethink buying it from the store! Plus it’s only 5 ingredients! So let’s ditch the high fructose corn syrup, preservatives and “natural” flavors for easy and homemade. Use your homemade chocolate syrup on ice cream, pancakes, coffee and of course chocolate milk! Our two kids love this recipe over store bought syrup for their chocolate milk! Enjoy!!
Recipe:
* 1 cup Water
* 3/4 cup Sugar
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
* 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
* Dash of Salt (optional)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients into a small pot on medium heat, stirring constantly. When sugar and cocoa is fully dissolved, bring chocolate syrup to a low simmer for two minutes, still stirring constantly to prevent burning. Remove from heat and let cool for at least five minutes. Enjoy immediately after cooling or store away in an air tight container for up to 3 weeks in fridge. Makes about 1 1/2 cup of chocolate syrup. Enjoy!
