Since its foundation in 1972, the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra has become well-known in the classical scene as a unique platform for young professionals to participate in extraordinary concert projects beyond the borders of their studies and professional life. At its core, the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra is a professional Chamber Orchestra, which is often extended to full Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra manages itself in the legal form of a non-profit association and is under the musical direction of its principal conductor Volker Hartung as well as any guest conductors. Members of the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra are mostly very gifted young graduates of famous conservatories in the Cologne area and winners of international competitions. This results in a style of interpretation that is characterized by its joy of playing, exceptional temperament and musical wit at the highest artistic level.
Presented here: Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 live from Hamburg's Laeiszhalle in Germany.
