We're going live to watch and discuss the so-called "Love Triangle Murder Trial," formally known as Texas v. Kaitlin Armstrong. In this live stream, we're going over the opening statements.

FOR CONTEXT:

On May 11, 2022, yoga instructor Kaitlin Armstrong, the defendant in this case, allegedly shot professional cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson in Austin, Texas. The alleged motive is jealousy over Wilson's previous short relationship with another professional cyclist, Colin Strickland--Armstrong's then-boyfriend. Wilson had been in town for the 150-mile "Gravel Locos" bicycle race.

After being questioned by the police over surveillance footage placing Armstrong's car near the scene of the crime at the time it occurred, Armstrong fled to Costa Rica. There, she got plastic surgery and changed the color of her hair. Even after she was apprehended, just mere weeks ago, she managed to flee jail while out on a doctor's visit. The police believe this attempted escape to have been premeditated.
