In these dynamic wall sculptures by Cheryl Wilson-Smith, fine layers of glass frit squares (ground glass) are stacked to create biomorphic shapes. Wilson-Smith lives in a remote part of northern Ontario ‘where the highway ends’ surrounded by ancient rock and the boreal forest. Her work reflects her abiding love of and respect for the natural world.
“The layers of my work represent many things but one of them is the accumulation of memories that are passed down.” Cheryl Wilson-Smith
