Former IBF Super Flyweight World Championship contender Jonas "Zorro" Sultan was successful in his return to the Pinoy Pride stage, defeating Ardin Diale via unanimous decision, 98-92, 98-92, 97-93 at Pinoy Pride 45, Saturday evening in Cebu City.
In his first bout back since losing to reigning IBF Super Flyweight king Jerwin Ancajas back in May, Sultan outboxed and outscored Diale all throughout their ten-round encounter.
Diale didn't make it easy for the ALA Boxing standout however, as he tagged Sultan with some clean shots of his own.
Sultan however, remained one step ahead as he earned the clear-cut decision win.
Sultan improves to 15-4 in his professional career.
Sultan's ALA Boxing stablemate and fellow former world title challenger "King" Arthur Villanueva wasn't as fortunate, as he figured in a majority draw with Carlo Demecillo.
It was an action-packed ten-round contest between Villanueva and Demecillo, and in the end, two of the three judges scored it 95-95, while the third judge scored it 96-94 for Demecillo.
It was the first draw in both Villanueva and Demecillo's professional careers.
