Little Blue Riding Hood (Freberg-Butler-Schumann) by Stan Freberg, orchestra conducted by Walter Schumann
On 8/26/53 Freberg gathered in the studio with his long-time creative voice pals June Foray and Daws Butler to produce some recorded parodies of Jack Webb’s massively popular “Dragnet” radio-TV series. Walter Schumann, composer of the iconic “Dragnet” theme music, conducted the session, which resulted in a best-selling two-sided single release featuring fairy-tale adaptations “St. George And The Dragonet” (a #1 hit) and “Little Blue Riding Hood,” which reached top-10. See also Freberg’s holiday follow-up “Christmas Dragnet.”
