Lithium-ion batteries use liquid electrolytes for power, but the spotlight is on solid-electrolyte batteries which are safer and more energy-dense. Using the Phantom v2512 ultrahigh-speed camera, researchers were able to observe Thin-Film Deposition --- the technology of applying a thin film of material between a few nanometers to about 100 micrometers onto a substrate surface. These observations bring the development of Thin-Film Lithium-ion batteries one step closer to reality. Read the case study » [ Ссылка ].
