The electric fan assemblies are prone to going out on the Lincoln MKX/Ford Edge platform. I'll show you how to switch to an updated design with this 2013 Lincoln MKX. You can test this first by turning your AC on full blast and/or when the engine is at operating temperature. If the fan isn't kicking on, check associated fuses and relays. If those look good, check the wiring harness, first that it is plugged in and undamaged, and second that power is making it to the fan using a multimeter. If all other systems seems to be in order, your fan is most likely bad and in need of replacement. You may not notice this immediately if your driving consists of mostly highway or few stops as air is going to be passing through the radiator. In a pinch you can drive like this at your own risk. Avoid traffic and stops, turning the engine off while at traffic lights. If your car is overheating while driving on the highway, there is another issue, possibly a faulty thermostat, water pump, or low coolant level due to a leak.
