Bengali traditional and authentic catfish or shing fish curry. This is very healthy and delicious shing fish recipe, which is cooked with potato and tomatoes. Bangladeshi fish recipe always testy dish with rice..hope you like & enjoy my video...
INGREDIENTS:
1. 4 piece shing fish or catfish cut in 2 pieces
2. 3 medium size potatoes
3. ½ cup chopped onion
4. 2 tsp garlic paste
5. ½ tsp ginger paste
6. 1 tsp turmeric powder
7. 1 tsp red chili powder
8. ½ tsp cumin powder
9. ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
10. 1 tsp salt
11. 5-6 piece green chili
12. ½ tsp coriander powder
13. 1/4th cup oil
14. 1.5 cup water
PROCEDURE:
1. Add ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp salt and with washed Shing fish. Coat all nicely.
2. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add all coated Shing fish. Fry Shing fish in medium-high flame. Fry both sides for 5-6 minute to turn light golden colour.
3. Heat oil in a cooking pan. Add ½ cup chopped onion. Stir onion and fry till light golden colour.
4. Add some water. Add 2 tsp garlic paste, 1 tsp ginger paste. 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp cumin powder and 1 tsp salt. Stir and mix all. Saute this for 3-4 minute in medium flame to remove raw smell.
5. Oil separate from spices, sauté done. Now add potatoes. Mix all. Add some water to boil potatoes. Stir and mix water. Cover pan for 5-7 minute in medium-high flame.
6. 5-7 minutes later, open the lid. Stir all. Now add around 1.5 cup of water. Mix all. Now simmer this in high flame properly. After simmering, add fried Shing fishes. Mix all. Also add some tomatoes and green chili. Mix all. Now cover pan in medium flame for 10 minutes.
7. 10 minutes later, open the lid. Stir and flip all fishes. Now add roasted cumin powder. Mix all. Shing fish curry with potato almost done, potatoes sodden properly and taste of salt is perfect. So put off the flame and serve this yummy fish recipe with hot rice.
