[ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] One of our favourite private properties with non stop climbs and descents. This new hill climb is the only one where we've had a rider slide and roll all the way to the bottom, very typical for a hard enduro. It's very loose and begins with a steep bank that gets the bike airborn at a certain speed. Ben demonstrates just how tricky it is. Getting down is difficult too, typical for an extreme enduro descent. The soil is so soft the front wheel could easily dig in so Ben just eases it down. We all agree the front wheel was a tad high so keep it lower next time. And maybe keep the feet on the footpegs too. Next run on this tricky loose hill climb. More speed, keeping the front wheel down. But the loose soil throws the bike off line. The next attempt is better, the bike stays on track but doesn't get much higher. The brain trust discusses the issue, we wonder if it's better to come in a bit slower to stop the bike jumping and keep the rear wheel providing traction. About the same result. Just to experiment, Ben tries coming in quite slow then accelerating just before the climb. Okay, too slow obviously. After that, it's must messing around with different speeds and trying to keep the power to the ground on this hill climb. We assume this is the key with such loose soil. Ben did speak to another rider who has made this tricky loose hill climb. His solution? Well he's a former motocross and freestyle rider. Apparently he hit it as fast as he could, got quite a bit of air, but landed with the throttle already on so the bike was driving the moment it landed. Ben actually did a motocross training course a week after this and they covered this technique, landing with power on. So we'll have to revisit this climb at a later date. It was all an interesting insight into serious enduro training. The rest of us? We enjoy a challenge and mixing in a bit of training along with just enjoying our rides. But it takes a different kind of dedication if you have a long term goal of eventually riding gold class in a hard enduro series. Any hill climbing gurus out there? How would you tackle this climb? Or like the rest of us, are you happy to just spectate?
