Ptahhotep was an ancient Egyptian vizier that lived around the 24th century BC. He had an adoration for Ma'at, the Egyptian goddess of social order, harmony, and balance. This adoration influenced his maxims which were written as a guide for practical living in accordance with Ma'at. Due to these maxims heavily resembling work by other philosophers, we may arguably say that Ptahhotep himself is a philosopher.
Despite their age, the maxims can also be practically applied to today's world. They cover issues such as knowledge, pride, attention, confrontation, emotions, and relationships.
