The Boeing AH-64 Apache is a twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with tailwheel landing gear and a tandem cockpit for two crew members. It has a sensor suite positioned on the nose for target acquisition and night vision equipment. It is armed with a 30 mm (1.18 in) M230 chain cannon positioned between the main landing gear and under the forward fuselage, as well as four hardpoints mounted on stub-wing pylons for carrying weapons and storage, which are normally a combination of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods. To boost battle survival, the AH-64 has extensive system redundancy.
