The law of reverse effect. It states that our results tend to come more easily when we stop caring so much about them. When we obsess over a result, we create pressure and anxiety that can sabotage our efforts. Ironically, letting go creates the mental space for what we want to manifest. The law of reverse effect applies to many areas of life - relationships, careers, money, and more. We're often taught that we get what we want by going after it in full force. But this can seriously backfire when taken too far.
The harder we chase things like relationships and dream jobs, the more they tend to elude us. That's because desperation and neediness unconsciously push away what we want. No one wants to be with someone who's overly clingy. Employers shy away from candidates who seem too hungry.
