I decided to drive down to the Cutler Bay and Homestead area of Miami to try my luck at getting some new species. This small canal was very clear, very deep, and filled with many different fish. Unfortunately, it was hard to get them to bite the live redworm. They were all interested in it, but didn't want to commit to biting it. Eventually, I was able to hook into two cichlids and after trying to identify them I decided to list them as hybrids and thus didn't include them as a new species for my lifelist. The day wasn't a lost cause though since I did also hook up with my first ever mullet. I ended up identifying this one as a striped mullet, but would love it if someone could confirm this. All things considered, it was a decent Sunday morning.
