The New England Association of Schools and Colleges evaluates schools in the region for educational accreditation. The review process puts schools through a ten year cycle that involves a self study by staff and faculty, a visitation by a committee, followed up with a report from the association including suggestions and recommendations.
Stamford High recently had its NEASC visitation last month, and according to school officials, things are looking good. Dr. Michael Fernandes, Assistant Superintendent of Stamford public Schools, says a status meeting with Stamford High staff and members of the visiting committee produced positive feedback. He says the school's diverse climate was a main point of praise.
Stamford High will receive its final report from NEASC in the winter, taking the recommendations provided into consideration for further planning.
