According to documents filed in federal court last week, one group says chronic understaffing and a lack of mental health resources for years has led to essentially a ticking time bomb at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
The more than 900-page filing last week is part of an ongoing lawsuit involving attorneys for the group Disabilities South Carolina.
The suit and the filing argue that conditions at the jail violate inmate's rights, particularly those with mental health issues.
This most recent filing included inspection reports, 911 call data and even statements from inmates.
