The Afghanistan–Pakistan border, also known as the Durand Line, is the international border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was established in 1893, and is 2,640 km (1,640 mi) long, and runs from the tripoint of Afghanistan, China, and Tajikistan in the north to the Wagah–Attari border crossing in the east. The line, which roughly follows the watershed of the Hindu Kush mountains, serves as the international boundary between the two countries. The line has been a source of tension between the two countries and is disputed by some Afghans. The border is disputed by Afghanistan, which does not officially recognize it as an international boundary.
