In a previous video, we looked into converting your standard front suspension strut top covers into rodent deterrent devices. This is, of course, fine if you have covers to modify. They are no longer a common item and are getting very expensive. So what are your options if you want strut tops for cosmetic or rodent deterrent reasons but can't get or afford originals?
In this video, I show you two options I have come up with. One is very functional and the other adds some bling. Unfortunately, neither solution costs pennies, but both can be achieved for less than the price of original caps from the usual suppliers (if you can get any at all)
One method uses the wheel bearing hub cover from an Ifor Williams trailer. The other uses the wheel centre for an 'XJ6 Kent alloy wheel'.
Here are some links that may be useful to you.
