The young White Admiral Lemenitis camilla caterpillar, cuts away sections of honeysuckle leaf whilst feeding. Some leaf sections are tied with silk and adorned with droppings to form a 'bag' which hangs under the mid-rib. This must be important to the caterpillar as it goes to great effort to move the 'bag' along as it feeds. When disturbed it always returns to the tip of the mid-rib which it has slightly extended making a small 'pier' with its droppings and silk.
