"The biggest lesson fall semester taught me was that I cannot rely on myself, or even solely on those around me, for everything. As someone who has a hard time asking for help and admitting that I am not always ok, this song ‘Fight for Me’ reminds me that I need to give up my burdens and surrender everything to Jesus. Instead of proving to myself and others that I can take on everything, I slowly am coming to realize that my worth is not rooted in my ability to do a million and one tasks, but in the goodness and power of Jesus Christ. I know that it is only through God’s grace and love that I am where I am today and so I will strive to let God fight for me instead of through my own strength."
