Bedbugs are one of many nasty pests that can be found in your home. They leave small bloodspots on clothes, furniture and more. People can have extreme reactions to them. Their resilient nature makes them extremely difficult to eliminate completely.
Here are a few specific reasons why
The ability to hide
Due to their size, bedbugs have the ability to hide in places where even pest control can’t reach them. Be it a switchboard cover or behind wallpaper, they slip their small bodies into places you wouldn’t even guess. To completely remove an infestation, every single bug must be killed. This makes the job extremely tedious and difficult.
Prolific Breeding
One female bedbug can lay as much as 500 eggs. Bedbugs can go from a few to thousands in a matter of days. They increase at such a rapid rate that there’s no time to put off getting rid of them.
Temperature
Coincidentally bedbugs strive in the typical temperature set in a home. Their ideal temperature for breeding is between 21-27 degrees Celsius (70-82 degrees Fahrenheit).
The Evolution of bedbugs
Although they may look the same as they did millions of years ago, over time they have evolved to adapt to their specific surroundings and the changes that occur within them. This includes being resistant to the pesticides that are commonly used to kill them, adding to the stress and to the level of difficulty it takes to get rid of them.
