This cool little drum sequencer uses 4 solenoids as the actuators driven by RBX MOS4 and controlled by the RBX UNO (our USB C Arduino UNO clone) with a PROTO_BASE shield (a shield allowing JST connections, ruling out the need for a breadboard). The user interface is compiled of a
RBX POT (a potentiometer with xh connectors),
RBX SWAD3 (a three button input device that can be connected as three separate digital inputs, or as one single analog input),
RBX SWLED8 (an eight button input/output device with leds which can be controlled passively or actively)
The RBX SWLED8 is connected to the project via the RBX EXPAND, and I2C expansion module
The selected beat in a sequence is displayed on the RBX GLOW_STRIP (an eight pixel RGB addressable light strip)
Although not shown clearly in the video, MP3 samples and piezo beeps can also be triggered in a sequence using the RBX SOUND, and the RBX BUZZ modules.
This is version 1 of the project, but there is so much more that can be done with it. We will certainly revisit it at some point.
