Runways: Grass, then 3 concrete. The area of the flying field was approximately 1,700 yards by 1,500 yards. In 1943 three intersecting runways were constructed (230) 2,000 by 50 yards, (280) 1,400 by 50 yards & (350) 1,400 by 50 yards
Hardstandings: During 1940-41 at least 24 pan-shaped hardstandings were put down, some with long access tracks. In 1943 50 loop hardstandings were provided, several of the existing hard pans being destroyed in the process
Hangars: 5 - C Type. Three of the C hangars fronted the bombing circle with a fourth and fifth backing the two end hangars
Ad., tech. & barr.: The camp was located at the Catton end with the usual flat-roofed brick buildings for administration and barrack purposes. In 1943 two new domestic sites with Nissen buildings were built in Catton
