Explains the very important differences between regular or straight probation and deferred adjudication. On deferred probation you can avoid jail time and a conviction if you finish successfully. But you could be sentenced to much more time than regular probation. On regular probation, you have a final conviction to start but may get less time in jail if you have a violation. On probation you always have a conviction. On deferred you only have a conviction if you violate your supervision.
