This week's pick is from Orgy: "Blue Monday." Orgy's cover of New Order's influential track got my attention 22 years ago when they were on the Family Values tour with Korn. It's an excellent distillation of the 7+ minute original, refined into an industrial rock pop track.
This one was fun to do as it's hard hitting and I could really lock in with the driving beat of the electronic drums. Hopefully my drums give it a bit of an organic feel and contrast the combination of electronic drums and acoustic cymbals that featured on the original track.
P.S. Fade outs suck.
