Ano ba talaga ang ibig sabihin pag sinabing battery calibration sa phone? Safe ba na magcalibrate ng battery? Safe din ba na hindi gamitin ang phone ng matagal na panahon kahit hindi natatanggal ang battery?

MY NOTES:
What is Battery Calibration
SUBSCRIBE
BATTERY CALIBRATION
- is a method of correcting battery stats when it seems it is showing wrong battery percentage.
- it is done by draining the battery to zero percent and recharging it back to full 100% twice.
HISTORY
- battery calibration method started back when Nickel Cadmium was the battery being used on smartphones
- Lithium-based batteries are designed to be a more straightforward approach to mobile handset and the lifestyle it comes with.
FACTS:
- battery calibration is not actually intended to fix the battery.
- It is only to sync up actual percentage of the battery to the software that monitors the amount of charge stored inside the battery
- In short, battery calibration only fixes the software side of the battery and not the physical battery.
- In short, if the phone's battery has already deteriorated, battery calibration doe snot fix it. It says deteriorated.
- The actual capacity left will remain the same as the calibration only affects the software of the Android OS or iOS.
- smartphone battery cells are not fixable or at least not worth the risk since you will be dealing with chemicals and hazardous coumpounds.
- It would be best to just buy a replacement.
CONS:
1) Battery drain to zero is risky
- Battery calibration method requires draining the battery to zero
- that is not healthy or good for any lithium battery
- in "some cases," draining battery to zero could temporarily kill the battery cell and the phone won't turn on.
- this is even worse if you make a habit of it
2) Draining to Zero Damages the lithium battery a little
- Keep in mind that draining the battery is a practice applied for Nickel cadmium bateries. An old and a very different technology.
BEST PRACTICES:
- Do a battery calibration with the intention to only fix the sync of software and actual battery capacity.
- Do not expect to fix the ACTUAL battery with battery calibration method.
- When planning to store your phone for a long period of time, leave only 40-50% charge.
- Studies show that a lithium battery could lose up to 15% capacity if stored at full 100% compared to just 40-50%
- Avoid overheating during usage and charging
- If the battery capacity has become very low, consider a replacement asap.
