The European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft is set to make a 'controlled crash' onto the surface of a comet after a 12-year mission.
Rosetta, the first spacecraft to orbit a comet, has been collecting detailed data for the last two years.
During its descent the craft will take high-resolution images and use its 11 instruments to measure conditions near the comet’s surface.
