Mindy Berger: "It was a sense of consolement. You felt consoled."
Gary Berger: "It was a little bit of a closure, not a full closure, but a little bit of a closure, just having a place to go with my brother''s name."
Mindy Berger: "And the water was just going in and out in the same way that the lives were, like every day lives, it just had a meaning. As the water was flowing, people''s lives were flowing. It just had that meaning to us."

"It was very difficult building up to it, the days getting here. But I think I was most impressed by the cascading falls, the water and the names. Incredibly beautiful. There is something very peaceful about that and for the first time we were able to come here and it''s not the gut-wrenching horrible feeling because there is something finally really beautiful about it, peacefully. A little bit of closure. We''ve commented all day that we don''t have a gravesite, so having a place where we all touched her name and dragged our fingers across it and left a kiss."

It''s America. It affected you, whether it''s an immediate family member or just people you don''t really know."
