I have a few large plants but have struggled finding a large hanging planter. These plants had outgrown their small pots and I wanted to get them up and off the ground.

I picked up two large concrete pots at $12 each. They did have handled which helped but if yours don’t you can drill two holes using a drill bit.

I used craft cord I found at hobby lobby for $3. It came with 45 feet so I had plenty to suspend these from the ceiling.

I started by cutting the straps off my concrete pots. This way I could use the existing holes.

I then cut my craft cord and wound it through one hole and around the exterior of the pot, coming back through the other hole. I did the same thing on the other side. Then joined all four ends by tying a knot.

I used large metal cup hooks and hung them in the studs in the ceiling. I then tied a loop in the end of my rope and hung my pots from the ceiling.

Since this corner is by some skylights but gets indirect light, I potted a pothos and philodendron over here. They are already showing new growth after less than a week of being here.

This is such an affordable and easy way to turn normal planters into hanging pots.
