The funeral for 27-year-old teacher Victoria Soto has been held in Connecticut, following the deadly shooting rampage at her elementary school that left 20 children and six adults dead.
The funeral of first grade teacher Victoria Soto was just one of the funerals held today after the shootings at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown Connecticut, in which 26 people were killed.
Family, friends and members of the community gathered at the Lordship Community Church in Stratford, Connecticut to remember the teacher in a memorial service.
The 27-year-old was shot by gunman Adam Lanza whilst she was shielding her students from the gunfire.
Connie Delottinville, who graduated with Soto from Stratford High School said that Ms Soto "was one of the most beautiful people."
"She was a great person and so this is just such a tragic loss."
Funerals were also held for six-year-old Charlotte Bacon, seven-year-old Daniel Barden and six-year-old Caroline Previdi, while the family of seven-year-old Chase Kowalski invited mourners to a public visitation and prayer vigil.
