General Brawner’s Insightful Visit to KAI’s Advanced Aircraft, the KF 21 Boramae at ADAS 2024!
The South Korean company has proposed a comprehensive package to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) that includes the export of 12 FA-50 Block 20 Fighting Eagle light combat aircraft, upgrades for the existing FA-50PH fleet, and potential sales of KF-21 Boramae fighter jets. This proposal is in line with the PAF’s MRF Acquisition Phase 1, which has a budget of approximately Php61.2 billion ($1.094 billion), initially influenced by Saab’s offer of JAS-39C/D Gripen fighters. KAI suggests that acquiring 10 KF-21 Block I units, with Integrated Logistics Support, is feasible within this budget. The KF-21 Block I is primarily configured for air defense and air interdiction missions.
ADAS 2024 Asian Defense and Security Exhibition 2024 in Manila Philippines.
Taking place in Manila on September 25–27, 2024, the 5th edition of the Asian military and Security Exhibition is a must-attend event for anybody involved in the region's global military industry. In the Philippines, ADAS is celebrating its tenth anniversary with this edition. Serving the Philippines and the larger Asia Pacific area, it is expected to be the biggest event in the series' short history.
Lockheed Martin is offering the M142 HIMARS to the Philippine Armed Forces in order to fulfill their requirements for two projects: the Integrated Land Based Missile System Acquisition Project of the Philippine Army and Philippine Marine Corps, and the Integrated Multi-Launch Rocket System Acquisition Project.
The Israel-made PULS from Elbit Systems and the South Korean K239 Chunmoo from Hanwha Aerospace, are anticipated competitors for the M142 HIMARS. Short-range ballistic missiles will be used with precision delivery by the Philippine Army and Marine Corps, along with new MLRS and LBMS systems for the delivery of full saturation firepower and rocket artillery.
