HP MJF 3D Printed parts made out of Nylon PA-12 feel strong, the material spec sheet from HP say they are strong, but here at Forerunner 3D Printing, we like to trust but verify. So, we handed the parts over to our sister company, DeWys Engineering, and they built a wear testing machine purpose built to answer the question: How wear resistant is an MJF part when its going up against an aluminum block.
This test was conducted in the DE lab, it was set up to simulate a misalignment of a part being placed into a 3D printed nest. An aluminum block was shimmed to be .010" out of alignment with the 3D Printed block it was designed to fit into with .0025" of clearance on each side. The machine was then cycled 100,000 time over 3 days. The results were amazing, you can find them on our website here: [ Ссылка ]
