If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex McCall. I'm the head coach at Skeletal Freedom. It's a community designed to help you learn how to run your next (or first) Ultra without DNF'ing.
Ultra marathons are the greatest mental and physical challenge you will possibly experience in your life and it is my mission to share how you can do that with enjoyment.
We need to learn how to train smarter not harder, enjoy running with friends, our community and always be continuously learning how we can improve.
Overcome your mental barriers, master your technique & get the right gear for any conditions.
Improve your strength & mobility to reduce your injury risk.
Learn to go Ultra with 4-6hrs per week of training & the essentials to improve your speed & distance.
How I got here…
18: Played football and got busted up with a few injuries
19: Ran my first half marathon in 1h 35mins
21: Gave up running and all "impact sports" due to a knee injury
28: Re-taught myself to walk and move from the ground up
29: Learnt how to run again injury free
30: Ran my first Ultra marathon at the Ultra Trail Australia (55km w 2,500m+ vertical)
31: Ran my first 100km Ultra Marathon at Tarawera Ultra Marathon in New Zealand (102km w 3,200m+ vert)

Currently training for the Northburn Miler 160km, 10,000m vert.
To everyone who runs, looking to do hard things and showing up consistently, the greater the challenge, the easier your day to day.
You either get an epic medal at the finishline or an epic story. Both mean you win.
