Born on 18 June 1901 in Saint Petersburg, the Grand Duchess Anastasia was the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and the most famous Russian Grand Duchess. Nicknamed Nastya, Nastenka or Malenkaya, meaning "little (one)", she was lively, mischievous, and a gifted actress. She was also less concerned about her appearance than her sisters and dared occasionally exceeded the limits of acceptable behavior. Her dream was to become a comedian. Anastasia was murdered along with her family on 17 July 1918 at age 17.
