This safe has a 2-1/2" overall body constructed of 1" high tensile steel outer and 14 & 16 gauge inner plates and a 4-1/2" overall door insulated with U.L. approved material, outer door plate being 1-1/2" thick A36 high tensile steel. In other words, the security on this safe is no joke and even with all of that steel only a single business card can fit between the door and body.
