Elegantly finished in Snow Shadow Grey, this delightful and restored 1961 Series III DB4 is one of just 164 of the series built. Delivered via agents Brooklands of Bond Street, the car found its way into the ownership of one Mr Marsh in 1962 and in 1967 was sold to South Africa where the car remained until 1987. Tracked down, the car was purchased and repatriated to the UK, by Mr Marsh’s son, Geoffrey.
Well know in Aston Martin circles, Geoffrey Marsh oversaw the highly successful Marsh Plant stable of racing Aston Martins, employing the services of amongst others, the late great Gerry Marshall. Mercifully this car remained part of Mr Marsh’s road car collection and was never used in competition.
Changing hands in 2009, the car has subsequently benefitted from a full chassis and body restoration by highly respected Aston Martin Heritage agents and was completed in 2013. Post restoration, servicing and maintenance have been meticulously carried out by Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell on an annual basis.
Supplied with a substantial history file containing a detailed log of the cars movements, with service records during Marsh’s ownership and subsequent restoration details, including a photographic record of the chassis and body works, along with service and maintenance invoices from AM Works.
This delightful DB4 drives superbly and is prepared for the next custodian to enjoy now, without need of major expense, only a desire to drive and enjoy one of Aston Martins greatest models.
