Shop for the new Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid: [ Ссылка ]
This isn’t Subaru’s first Crosstrek Hybrid. The previous generation was sold from 2014 to 2016. Three years after that car was discontinued, Subaru is giving hybrid power another try, this time with plug-in technology.
That plug-in tech is noteworthy, as it allows this Crosstrek Hybrid to drive up to 17 miles on electric power alone. Past that, the 2.0-liter H4 engine needs to kick in, providing its own 137 horsepower (for a net system total of 148). All in all, the Crosstrek Hybrid is rated for 90 MPGe, or 35 mpg in combined driving on gas power.
Unfortunately, while the Crosstrek Hybrid looks the same size as a gas-powered Crosstrek, the inside is a bit more cramped. Because this car houses an 8.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack, the trunk space shrinks nearly 15 cubic feet, to 41 total cubes. Compared with the typical Crosstrek’s 55 cubes, this is a considerably smaller cargo area.
The Starlink infotainment system comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and features Subaru’s classic easy-to-use interface. Another screen, located above the primary 8-inch display, offers additional information and your reversing camera.
The EyeSight safety suite comes standard and includes forward-collision warning and avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. For more information on the new 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, read George’s full review on CarGurus: [ Ссылка ]
