The White Princess (2017) scene: Elizabeth of York tells her suspicious husband, Henry Tudor, that their son's birth means she will always choose him over her family. Despite being the daughter of Edward IV, the founder of the Yorkist dynasty, and her birth as a Plantagenet princess, her betrothal to Henry Tudor ensures her loyalty to him. This discussion takes place shortly after the birth of her son in 1486, during the "Perkin Warbeck" conspiracy and her mother's questionable loyalty to the new regime. It was time when people still thought the Tudor regime could be quickly toppled and replaced by Edward IV's missing sons, the Earl of Warwick (George's son), or the designated heir of House York by Richard III: the de la Poles, Elizabeth of York, Duchess of Suffolk's children.
(E of York, Duchess of Suffolk was sister to Edward IV, Richard III and George, duke of Clarence. If her brothers had no male children who could inherit, then her children were the rightful heir of House York.)
